If you are living - or thinking about living - on the West Side of Providence, check out the West Broadway Neighborhood Association. The WBNA is a great organization that is a central force in making the West Side a wonderful place to live. They have fostered a sense of community rarely found in urban areas such as Providence, and they are not afraid to tackle hard problems.
