Festival of Historic Houses

Volunteers are needed for the Providence Preservation Society’s 28th Annual Festival of Historic Houses Saturday tour on June 2nd, 2007. The Festival is the signature fundraising and educational event for PPS and is an opportunity to showcase well-preserved buildings in Providence’s varied neighborhoods. This two-day tour will feature a spectacular array of homes along George, Manning and Cooke Streets on Providence’s East Side.

Volunteers are asked to commit to a three-hour shift between a three-hour shift between 11:00am and 5:00pm on Saturday, June 2nd. Volunteers should enjoy working with the public and have a friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities include: tour guide, greeting guests, pre-paid registration and ticket sales, street marshal, and book sales. In exchange for service, volunteers will receive free admission to this event.
