- West Side Thursdays
Presented as part of Mayor Cicilline’s Celebrate Providence! series and hosted by the West Broadway Neighborhood Association the 14-piece ensemble, NIGHTLIFE ORCHESTRA, will perform in Dexter Training Ground (Next to the Armory on the corner of Parade & Cranston, Providence) Thursday, July 2nd from 6-8pm. This week is the first of seven free Thursday park events called West Side Thursdays.
Night Life Orchestra is a 14-piece ensemble that performs big band/swing hits. Attendees are encouraged to sit and listen, or bring a partner and dance to Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and many other classics. Sandwiches, pastries, produce and more will be available for purchase from Palmieri’s Bakery and the Parade Street Farm Fresh Farmer’s Market in the park every Thursday from 3-7 p.m.
