Matt and Farmstead brought home the bronze pig trophy to Providence after successfully defeating the Boston competition at Cochon 555 this weekend.

Eat like a culinary judge on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and dine on a special “Prince Of Porc” Mini Tasting Menu- the 3-course sampling of Matt’s dishes from Cochon 555: $25.

I often yell to my students, “No sex in the kitchen!”—a statement reminding them that they must stay gender neutral while working in the culinary industry.  Flirting, wearing perfumes, earrings, colored or long nails, makeup, styled hair or showing cleavage (both male and female) are all taboo in the kitchen. And though this statement is absolute law when it comes to a professional and sanitary environment, it is not necessarily the rule of thumb at home. As a-matter-of-fact, a home kitchen can be a remarkably romantic place… providing you plan your menu and ambiance for the occasion.
